From infancy, my kids ate healthy (but not organic) like I was taught to do from both of my parents. I used recipes (including birthday cakes sweetened with fruit juice) I got from the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" series (I think it was the toddler one). Any way, I got a lot of flack from my friends who thought it was mean not to give my children sugar and candy. I didn't have the support of my family who live far away and in another state, and my husband and in-laws (all of them are obese) were bad influences. My kids never fussed with foods and were always eager to try something new and nutritious.

Now, my daughter is 15 year old and rebels saying she would rather eat chemicals (like my in-laws do) than good food while my 13 year old son shovels anything and everything into his mouth. My husband takes them through fast food places and orders soda for them whether or not they ask for it. But it's interesting because my kids still love fruit and will ask me to buy more when we run out of it at home. Signs of hope, I think, and since they learned how to eat healthy when they were younger, hopefully they will go back to those good habits, some day.

This was a very good show!
